Chocolate Chai Latte

Chocolate Chai Latte

This cool, refreshing iced chocolate chai latte is my daughters absolute favorite drink. She says it tastes like pumpkin spiced chocolate milk. I make it with decaffeinated chai tea so she doesn't get wound up on it.

Chocolate Chai Latte -2 cups water
-4 decaffeinated chai tea bags
-1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-5 cups chocolate milk
-ice cubes

In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. When it's boiling, add the tea bags. I twist them together, knot them and hang them over the side, careful not to let the string and tags touch the burner. Next, add the cinnamon and nutmeg, stirring with the teabag bunch so the flavor really seasons the water.

Decrease the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.

Remove the sauce pan from the heat and let it stand for 10 minutes. Remove the tea bags and pour into a glass pitcher. Place in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. You want the tea mixture to be completely cooled.

Add the chocolate milk, mix well and pour into frosted glasses filled with ice cubes.
