Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Crispy Bars

Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Crispy Bars are a recipe that I got from one of my friends. I didn't alter a thing and have used this recipe for school birthday treats for my daughter and bake sales and the kids just love them.

-6 ounces butterscotch chips
-1/2 cup peanut butter
-4 cups crisp rice cereal (Kellogg's rice krispies or the generic)
-6 ounces chocolate chips
-1/2 cup powdered sugar (aka confectioner's sugar)
-2 tablespoons butter
-1 tablespoon water
-1/4 teaspoon vanilla

In a kettle, melt butterscotch chips and peanut butter on low heat. Mix in rice cereal. Spread 1/2 of the mixture in a 9x13 pan and refrigerate. Set the other 1/2 on the side. In a second kettle, melt the chocolate chips, sugar, butter, water and vanilla. Take out refrigerated pan and spread the chocolate mixture on top. Next, spread the remaining peanut butter mixture on top of the chocolate.
