Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Creamy Mashed Potatoes go great with any roast, chops or steak and the fluffy richness of these spuds will help you fill up.

-5 large size potatoes
-1/2 cup milk, half & half or whipping cream (the higher the cream content, the richer the mashed potatoes)
-2 Tablespoons softened butter
-1/2 cup sour cream
-pinch of salt
-1/4 teaspoon garlic salt (optional for garlic mashed potatoes)
-1/4 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Peel potatoes, rinse and cut into pieces. Put in kettle with enough water to cover with a pinch of salt. Cook on high, bringing to a boil. Cook until you can stick a fork into the potatoes and they are soft-about 20 minutes. Drain potatoes and put in a mixing bowl. Add the rest of your ingredients and mix until well blended and creamy.
