There are so many ground meat recipes that are easy and filling, it needed it's own category on this comfort food site. My grandma always had 20 ways to use leftovers and grinding the meat into a sandwich spread was a biggy. Grandma grew up in the depression, so she was always looking for ways to save a buck. We couldn't afford to eat steak every night, but we were a family of meat eaters, so ground meat or hamburger it was. Hamburger is the cheap cut of meat, generally because of the fat, but that is also what makes it taste so good. Don't be afraid to rinse your hamburger after you cook it if you're a little fat phobic. You will eliminate a huge amount of fat and calories but not the flavor.
