This easy whipped cream recipe is great for filling cream puffs, cupcakes, as a topping for strawberry shortcake and your favorite piece of pie. With this recipe, it's easy to determine how much sweetness you add to your dessert. It all hinges on how much powdered sugar you add.
-1 pint whipping cream
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1/2 to 1 cup powdered sugar
In a medium size mixing bowl, slowly beat the whipping cream, vanilla and 1/2 cup powdered sugar. As it soon as it starts to thicken, taste it to see if it's sweet enough. If not, mix in more powdered sugar--about a tablespoonful at a time. Be careful not to over beat it, because it gets grainy if you do. Homemade is way better than the store bought stuff (but not as much fun to spray in your mouth).
