Cream Puff Recipe

Grandma made these cream puffs at every holiday dinner. Surprisingly, they're really easy to make. They just taste like they shouldn't be.

-1/2 cup butter
-1 cup water
-1 cup flour
-4 eggs

In a sauce pan, bring butter and water to a boil. Slowly add in the flour, stirring as you add until the batter is smooth. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto cookie sheets greased with butter....you will need 2 cookie sheets; put 10 spoonfuls on each pan. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Put both cookie sheets in at once on the racks (one on top and one on bottom). Bake for 20 minutes. Switch the pans around and bake another 20 minutes. This ensures that they will be baked evenly. When the last 20 minutes are up, turn off the oven and open the oven door slightly. Let the puffs cool in the oven. If you take them out too soon, they will fall flat. (Trust me on this one, I know from experience!) When the puffs are completely cooled, slice in half, and fill each half with whipped cream and put them back together. Dip the top of the puff in powdered sugar and serve.
